West Woods at Lockeridge

Bluebells West WoodA misty sea of blue greets visitors to West Woods near Marlborough during May as bluebells come into flower and cover the ground.

To take advantage of this wonderful spectacle, why not take a gentle stroll through the well-maintained paths of this ancient woodland, with wildlife and the huge carpet of bluebells and other woodland plants such as primroses. This opportunity is only offered on two Sundays each year.

West Woods lie close to the A4 at Clatford which is signposted just past Lockeridge. As well as being home to wild flowers the wood is also a haven for may species of birds, deer and other wildlife and boasts 800 acres primarily Beech trees.

Although the woods are open 365 days a year for walkers, the bluebell wood is only open for vehicles on two Sundays each year, which gives the elderly and disabled an opportunity to visit this spectacle.
